In Vain Have I Struggled...

Jane Austen

Hello, internet! My name is Emilie Davis, and I love Pride & Prejudice.

I've never been particularly shy about that fact, but it's not something I've shouted from the rooftops, either. For many years, I would re-read the book and re-watch the movies/mini-series/romantic comedies inspired by it, and keep my passion to myself (and a few close friends).

But the time has come to stop being quiet! I've read hundreds of variations of Pride & Prejudice, and I don't care who knows it!

This inaugural blog post is dedicated with gratitude to Jane Austen. Nothing I can say will ever be enough to thank her for blessing the world with her genius. It's a reminder that the impact of art cannot be undervalued. Where would we be today in literature, entertainment, and views on romance if she had never shared her stories?

I imagine that you are on this website because you, too, love P&P. Welcome, friend! In many ways this is a grand experiement, and I'm not sure where it will end up. For now, it's a fun place to discover new Pride & Prejudice variations and geek out over whether or not an author captured the spirit of Darcy and Lizzy. In the future? Who knows.

I encourage you to like and share the podcast with friends who would enjoy it, and I really encourage you to pick up some of these novels we're reading. The number of talented authors inspired by Jane Austen is amazing! You have so much fun to look forward to!

Thank you for coming on this journey with us!

I will only add, God bless you--

Emilie
